This post is not like my regular posts. Today, I’m not sharing a recipe with you or any cooking tips. Today, I want to delve a little bit into a blogging topic and share with you why it is important to attend blogging conferences. So if you are a blogger, this post is for you. For those who are not bloggers, I’ll have a brand new recipe post coming up soon.
Two and half months ago, I attended #WeAllGrow Summit in Long Beach, California. It had been a goal of mine to attend since the very first #WeAllGrow Summit conference last year when my blog was only a few months old.
But, what is #WeAllGrow Summit you may ask? Well, #WeAllGrow is the annual blogging conference by Latina Bloggers Connect, a blogging network and community for Latina bloggers created by Ana Flores to connect Latina online influencers with brands and each other.
Attending this conference, has been the best and most fulfilling experience I’ve had as a blogger, yet. I learned so much about the blogging community and about myself during this trip. My emotions were running high and the fact that there was a great number of extremely moving speakers did not help my case. Also, I got to, finally, personally meet my blogger inspiration Melisa of Hungry Food Love.
Side note: I’d like to apologize to Ana Flores for all the tears and for not being able to formulate a proper sentence between the sobs to thank her for the amazing work she does. Also, shoutout to the LBC and #WeAllGrow team for their hard work. You truly created those Moments of AWE and had us all mesmerized.
No, but really, this conference taught me the importance of attending the right blogger conferences if your goal is to take your blog to the next level. So, here I want to share three main reasons you should attend blogger conferences:
To Learn How to Manage Your Blog
There is a lot that goes into managing a blog. From content creation, to photography, to SEO, the tasks and learning curve is never ending. The breakout sessions at these conferences allow you to learn about each and every one of these topics from people who have done it. Unlike an online course, you have the opportunity to ask specific questions and address some of your main concerns. If the conference is good, you will always come out knowing something new and with a list of new things to try out on your own.
To Connect With Brands
Blogging conferences give you the opportunity to connect and possibly partner with brands you are interested in working with. These brands are there to connect with you because they are interested in working with bloggers and influencers. Make sure that you present yourself well and can communicate what you and your blog are all about. This will increase your chances of getting that brand partnership you’ve been dreaming of.
To Connect With Other Bloggers
Latina Bloggers Connect and #WeAllGrow’s motto is “When one grows, we all grow.” This is very true in the blogging world. There is nothing like the connections you make with those who are on the same path as you and who “get it.” They understand the struggles and hard work that goes into building an online business. They understand your doubts and fears because they have been there. Like you they also want to learn, grow, share their gift and find success. Conferences are where you meet the people that will form part of your tribe. To me #WeAllGrow is special. It is where you build a sisterhood. I met a great number of amazing women at #WeAllGrow this year and I cannot wait to see them again in 2017.
#WeAllGrow Summit just announced the dates and location for the 2017 conference. Early bird tickets will go on sale at 50% starting Monday, May 16 at 9:00 am PST. Click HERE to find out more about the conference.
