Frequently Asked Questions
I used fresh cherries, but frozen will work just as well too. If you use frozen, you won’t need to add as much ice to the blender. If you use fresh, be sure to pit them first!
I kept this smoothie vegan by using almond milk, but you can use dairy or another plant based milk. Oat and soy both work really well.
This cherry smoothie is best enjoyed as soon as you make it so that it is fresh. It is also when it is at it’s most nutritious. If you can’t drink it straight away, keep it covered in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Give it a stir before enjoying as the ingredients will settle.
Recipe Notes and Tips
- Blend the smoothie for at least a minute if you have a high-speed blender, and longer for a normal speed blender. This will ensure that your cherry smoothie doesn’t have any lumps in it.
- I don’t feel like this needs a sweetener, but you can add in a little honey or maple syrup if you prefer yours sweeter.
- The whipped cream topping is optional, but it makes for a really tasty treat!
